1x 256GB SSD or 2x 128GB SSD?

Would it be wiser and more cost efficient to purchase one 256GB SDD or to purchase two 128GB SSDs and run them in RAID 0? Assuming the 256GB and the 128GB read/write at the same speeds, I'd imagine that the array of drives would be faster? But what would you recommend on a budget?

Solution
1 x 128 GB SSD = £50, 1 x 240GB SSD = £75.

If cost is the issue it's a no-brainer.

If performance is an overiding factor the 2 x 128 GB SSD in Raid 0 will be faster that 1 x 240 GB SSD. However Raid 0 can be very tricky when you get errors on one drive and by having 2 x SSD effectively set as one drive you double your chance of failure/lossing data.

Personally I would stick to the 1 x 256 GB SSD. The performance is much better than HDD and the added complication for Raid 0 is not worth it for general computing.
