Hey,

I'm currently doing a holiday job and I'm planning to spend the money on building a new gaming computer. My budget won't be enormous, so I'm looking to save as much money as possible for my CPU and GPU without buying crappy components. Currently I'm planning to build something like this:

CPU: i5 4670K
GPU: Sapphire R9 290 tri-X OC
Mobo: Asus Z97-A
RAM: Kingston HyperX Blu 1600 2x4GB
HDD: Seagate Barracuda 1TB
Case: Corsair 300R

pcpartpicker estimates the max wattage at +-430 watts but only estimatea the GPU at 250W, while most reviews seem to put it at a maximum of 300W, meaning I'll need 480W. As a result I'm looking for a PSU around 650 W. I've considered the XFX Pro 650W, but it's pretty hard to get and expensive where I live. The Seasonic M12II EVO Bronze 620W is an option, but at 620W , it will go over 75% load at max power draw. The other option is the CM G650M, but I've read mixed reviews about it. Some people seem to think most CM PSUs are bad news, while I've also seen good customer reviews and a review stating that it had a higher efficiency, less ripple and less noise than the XFX Pro 650W. It's also modular.

My question is: would the G650M be a good choice? If not, which PSU should I get?

You probably be better off with the Seasonic M12II EVO Bronze 620W than the CM G650M.
Try to get the XFX pro 650.
What is your budget?

The SeaSonic M12II 620W is a very solid choice for your build and is very high quality (Tier 2 Class A), the CM G650M on the other hand is Tier 3. Also, wattage wise, its not gonna go up from 300-350W so the SeaSonic is the best choice here, that M12II is made to give extremely stable performance at 85% load and is a lot better than G650M.

The budget for my build is around €960. I can get the CM for €63, the Seasonic for €70, and the XFX for €83 or so if I want to get it from a site that will get it to me within a week, at other sites I would be waiting a lot longer. €83 is about as high as I want to go on my PSU. But if you think the wattage on the seasonic is high enough, I'll probably get that one. It's got two 24A 12v rails, so 576W on the 12v. Will this multi-rail design hinder my build in any way? It'll only have 288W per rail.

And thanks for the super fast replies ^.^

Nope the current rails of SS are good to go with your current requirements :)
