I have a dual-booted netbook with Windows 7 starter preinstalled and Windows XP installed on a second partition. Win 7 came preinstalled with AHCI controller, but windows xp hadn't Sata drivers so it also hadn't ahci/raid drivers. I installed xp in compability mode. When I want to boot to xp, I have to change the controller type to IDE, and then back to AHCI in order to reboot to win 7. This is extremely boring and I want to install AHCI drivers to windows xp without reinstalling it. I have a lot of files and the hdd is almost full, so it is hard to resize partitions everytime in order to buckup data. So i can't reinstall xp with AHCI drivers included. Is there any way to install them w/o reinstalling xp?

Found this and the only thing different might be the name of your controller.
