no sound from new build

I have a Gigabyte GA-970A-UD3P running windows 7.

i am not getting sound from the line out or the headphone jack.

the windows audio service shuts off every time i enable the sound.

i've tried updating the VIA HD audio driver, uninstalled and reinstalling it.

I've updated all my windows updates.

make sure you plugged in the plugs correctly. connect hd audio for the front panel.

There should be another driver named Realtek.

Also, try right clicking the white speaker icon in the bottom right and selecting Playback devices then click on your speakers and click the Set Default button then click OK.

I don't have realtek shown. Should I just try downloading realtek drivers anyways?

Go to your motherboards website and look for audio drivers. Don't just download any old driver. Also try what I said in my previous comment.

My motherboard uses via HD audio and I got the latest off gigabyte website.
