Can't enable SLI/No SLI Option in Nvidia control panel

I have 2x GTX 770's from Galaxy and asus respectively, however when i go to the Nvidia control panel, there is no SLI option there! My motherboard is SLI enabled (MSI Mpower Max) And they both have the same amount of memory! What's wrong?

Solution

Hmm if all 3 PCIe 3.0 slots are populated then your second card will only run at 4x. Maybe try removing the sound card if you have one and see if it changes anything.

Both show up in device manager and the nvidia control panel! Even in GPU-Z! Do you need the sli bridge? I do have one, but it may be faulty! It seems, though, that they are running differently! The newer one runs only at 4x and the old one at 8x. Is that a problem?

depending on how you have your cards plugged into the motherboard... the older one plugged in closer to the cpu. your motherboard my run 16x with one card and 8x,4x with two cards plugged in. without knowing what you motherboard is that would be my guess

Some motherboard do allow you to run sli with out the bridge, they just send the signal through the pci-e lanes. But 99% of the time you will need a bridge to enable sli. Turn off your computer and plug the sli bridge in, if there are two slots it doesn't matter witch one you use just make sure you use the corresponding one on the other card.

It seems both the extra slots run at 4x. Actually, would a soundcard in one of the slots make a difference?

I have an MSI Mpower Max z87 Motherboard. I have tried with the bridge too, but it still doesn't work! Can it be the sound card in the last x16 slot?
