Hello, I am aware that there are different variants of the Prodigy, here is a link to the one I currently have:

I was wondering if it is possible for me to remove the panel used to support the motherboard on the left side of the case and switch it to the right hand side? therefore so my system is facing toward the left panel instead of the right panel which has the power/restart switches on.

Thank you.

As far as I'm aware the left side panel doesn't support the motherboard - there is a motherboard tray inside the case which holds this.

If you just want to swap the panels around, there shouldn't be any major issues. They are similar to the standard Prodigy versions, so there's no reason you can't give it a go if it's a case you already have sitting beside you - it's a 5 minute job. The only concerns would be that the I/O panel would be upside down and that you might need to fiddle with cables or bend them over to get the side to shut.

If you are talking about attempting to flip your entire system, then it's a bigger issue. You can potentially just stand the entire machine upside-down, but there's not an easy (or good) way to flip the motherboard without doing this.

Sorry I meant actually taking the shelf out and putting it on the right-hand side of the case, mounting the motherboard there instead. Not physically switching both panels over. Is this possible?

Sorry, foolish mistake, the back of the case only supports the left side for them motherboard.

Yes and no. You could feasibly remove the motherboard tray (I think it's riveted in so you'd need to drill these) then flip it over and mount it on the opposite side. The problem is that you'd also need to remove the entire back panel and fix this as well (by flipping the motherboard your CPU would now by near the top rather than near the bottom).

This isn't an easy task though, and unless you are really good at that kind of thing, you'll get a really poor finish. Add to the it the fact that the Prodigy M isn't very good to start with (crappy layout etc) and I'm not sure it's worth the hassle.
If you want a better layout for your situation, I'd just buy a better case - what you want is done by 99% of cases and you picked the 1% which is different.

I think it was in a topic here a while ago,but i think i've read that someone really switched the side panels so the usb ports and other buttons were on the other/left side. You could try that. They seem to be of the same size.Since the motherboard isn't attached makes this it easier too.
I think you'll need to turn them 180° to make the front i/o at the front of the case again.
