Hey y'all does your wireless router matter for your internet connection? I have verizon and one of their routers but I am thinking about buying a high quality router. I want to be able to plug in for my connection but I need wireless for my moms computer and laptop. Also I don't know if we have fiber optics or not but do you need a special router for that?

Please help me pick out a real high quality router that is great for the money. I don't wanna spend 300 on it lol thanks! I want to be able to game on it.

1st: If you have a wireless connection router, it matters, if you dont, Its the speed of verizon that matters.
2nd: You just need a MODEM to "convert" fiber into UTP cable.
3rd: If your mom's laptop supports 5GHz, buy 5GHz router. I'd recommend this one: Asus RT-N56U
It supports 2,4 and 5ghz frequency at the same time, for a price of 100$ and it has alot of features. Otherwise, check Cisco/Linksys.
