Let me start by saying this is my first PC build. I had issues with the power cycle lights and the fans going on for a second on startup and then nothing. I searched the forums and found checklists which I followed. I took the mobo out and took everything off except the cpu, and cooler and it turned on, I added RAM, no issues, I added the graphics card and now it's not working again. The single 6 pin connecter is in all the way and the graphics card is seated as far as it will go into the slot. Any suggestions? Does it matter what slot I put the graphics card in? I used the one closest to the CPU.

UPDATE: Now the computer doesn't start up with only the CPU and HSF installed. I had noticed two of the ram slots had the clamps open and didn't think that mattered since I don't have RAM installed, but I closed them and it started up. I installed the two sticks of RAM and now it doesn't work, I removed them so it's exactly how it was a few minutes ago when it worked, and nothing. :-( Please help! I'm feeling like I was being way to ambitious thinking I could build my own computer!

I'm lost to as why it's not even starting with only the cpu and cpu cooler installed. The fan runs and one power state light goes on for a second and then nothing.

My first thought is the power supply. That's not a good power supply at all. It's not even 80+ efficient! It may be struggling to provide the necessary power to run the CPU and GPU, and the GPU pulls the most power.

Any experience with Newegg and exchanges? Do you think they'll let me return this PSU for a better one and pay the difference? It was part of a kit so I hope they don't make me return everything.
