So I am building a new gaming pc and am trying to stay on a budget.

So this is what I thought of:

Intel Core i5 4570 Haswell 3,20 GHz, 1150
Asus AMD Radeon R9 280X, 3GB
Corsair Vengeance 8GB (2x4) DDR3
Asus Z97-K or ASRock Z97 PRO4 LGA1150 ATX (they seem to be pretty much the same)
Gigabyte GZ-G2 Plus case
Corsair CX750 PSU
and a Samsung 840 EVO 250gb

What do you think about it? Any opinions or recommendations?

Looks good for the most part and agree with DHFF on the PSU you can get a good coolermaster V series PSU for a reasonable price also and will do you good. Here is a link that lists them in different tiers on what models are good better best and do not buy.
http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-1804779/power-supply-unit-tier-list.html

You may also want to get a standard HDD for storage you will fill up that 250 GB quicker then you think.

Solution
1. You don't need a Z97 motherboard with a locked CPU.An AsRock H97 Killer mobo is a good choice.
2. The Corsair CX series are bad quality. No one should use it with a higher end system.Change the PSU to a XFX Core 650W,Antec HCG 620M or Rosewill Capstone 650M.All great quality and very reliable units.
Hope this helps. ;)

Agreed with Blacksunking, the Cooler Master V have a good reputation. I also agree that you need more storage, I missed that part in your post. you need more room, that 250 will be chewed up in no time.

Thanks a lot guys and yes I have a HDD in mind, but it'll have to wait a bit. Hm its really unfortunate about the PSU as I actually already bought that PSU about half a year ago, when my old one died in my current pc. Since my GPU died recently, I was planning to use the PSU in my new pc, but apparently thats not a good idea I suppose.

I've used a few of the Corsair CX and no problems on those 3 and are not one that is garbage so to say but if can afford it their a plenty close in price range that are proven better. Their HX series is made with better components like in the link I shared points out some of the differences in the different makes/models better safe than sorry as they say.

Really the worse thats going to happen if you use the CX is either, it won't boot, or it'll poop itself out after a bit.. I mean if we were talking about some no name Power supply it could take out the rest of your components, but with a corsair line, thats going to be really unlikely.

Yeah, was just giving him some peace of mind if he chose to use the CX. But I also agree, saving someone the hassle of a RMA is always nice, he would be pushing that 12volt rail awfully hard with a 280x.
