Hi guys, I've noticed that in games such as mass effect 2 if I have all cores (6) active I get way, way, way lower almost unplayable fps, but if I limit it to 4 cores I get the desired fps, what exactly could be causing this?
Is my cpu which is an FX 6300 faulty?

This, although it's not necessarily thermal - it could be hitting a power limit imposed by your motherboard (I see it on gigabyte boards quite often). What mobo do you have?

MSI 760 GM P23, I don't honestly know what's happening but it's annoying I'm able to run Bf3 stutter free smoothly and mass effect much better than mass effect 2.
On performance level it goes like this
Mass Effect 3>2>1
It's weird for me, but yeah, my GPU is a GTX 650 TI if it matters.

Also, the game was working 100% well, but today when I went to play it, it stuttered everywhere with fps drops every 1-2 seconds.
Yesterday I was easily getting 90+ fps.
I also don't see myself reinstalling the game as I don't have time for it.
