Well... that sucked... Can I leave the card turned up hard for games, or do I need to watch the temperature/fan speed from time to time?

Check your temps during games when the card is overclocked, if it's below 85c you'll be okay, you won't need to check it, but if it goes over 85, you'll need to conaider adding more fans to optimise airflow
