Hi everyone,
This has been an issue on my computer for quite some time now, I'd say a few months, maybe to half a year I can remember this beginning to happen.
I am unsure whether it's a hardware or software issue and have no idea where to begin.
At times - whether I'm idle or playing a game - my computer will suddenly halt without warning and completely freeze. The thing is, when this happens, all sound stops which is odd. Typically, there'd be a buzzing sound or a constant feedback loop, or maybe a beep from the tower, but absolutely nothing happens, and I'm forced to do a hard restart.
I can recall, however, there was only one time this happened: after a freeze occurring just as I described, I received a POST screen about how a freeze occurred due to something being overclocked on my system: RAM or CPU. The thing is, I have never overclocked neither of those, or anything, on my computer.
This happened only once, but it makes me question whether this issue could be a problem with my RAM - I doubt it'd be my CPU, given that it was brand new and I put it in my machine about eight months ago and it works fine.
My temperatures are all fine too.
When the freeze occurs, there is no artifacting, everything just freezes on a single frame and all sound stops.
Any ideas on where to begin? Thank you!
