I have some sounds in use that I did not put there, they're annoying and happen to be assigned to CUT and PASTE. When I go to control panel and Sound CUT and Paste are not lised. I have some other sounds in this state too. Does someone make an application that does what Windows 7 Home Pro x64 does not, and that's let you get to most applications and functions (like hot key functions) and change their sound, or eliminate it?

When I go to Control Panel, Sound (Win7 Home Premium x64 SP1) I do not find Cut & Paste (and a whole lot other of basic Windows 7 activities) listed as having sounds. Yet my system has a very definate sound in use for Cut & Paste that is very annoying. I whish to change those, and possibly some others. Since Microsoft didn't seem to make these accessible, did some 3rd party write a program or utility as freeware, or for purchase that does fill in this oversight?

<mod edit: deleted your duplicate thread and added in what you pasted there in here for reference since both ask practically the same thing.>

Solution
i personally use windows 7 on both my laptop and desktop and maintain several other windows 7 systems and by default they do not play a sound during copy and paste operations and i have never disabled any windows sounds or changed them from default. this makes me think that you either are not using the default sound profile or have another program causing the sound issue.

if you are getting the generic ding sound when copy pasting in ms office you might want to see this thread http://www.sevenforums.com/sound-audio/218868-how-do-i-disable-windows-ding-sound-when-copy-paste-cutting.html or if you are gettin the sound in another program see if you can find the sound properties for that program.

if the sound being played is the windows default "ding" then perhaps it is tied to the default beep in windows although i'm not sure why it would be playing on copy/paste in windows or on the web. you could try turning default beep to none and see if that does anything. perhaps another program is causing this activity and not windows though.

otherwise you may want to be more specific about the kind of system you are running (stock windows 7 or something preinstalled on a laptop or desktop with who-knows-what other software and drivers installed, what programs you experience the issue in (ie, all of windows, just in office, just on web, etc) as well as what particular sounds appear for what tasks. you might want to give the sounds in the sound tab in windows sound a listen to see which ones you hear and when.

Sounds for copy and paste? I think at some point I'd toss the computer out a window :D

[strike]I don't have the answer but wanted to tell you that you should also ask in the win7 forum in the software section too. You might get more help there.*

*No offense ssddx :) just simply a matter of more people looking at that section vs here[/strike]

<mod edit: there is no need as this thread was moved to the win7 subsection. in any case, duplicate threads are not allowed.>
