MBR, GPT and the various drives. ~

Quick question.

Upon placing a new WD Black drive in my system earlier I noticed that initializing the disk gave me the option of MBR (Master Boot Record) and GPT.

I gave it some Googlage and decided on the GPT option for its more recent-ness.
I checked the existing drives only to find that the other WD Black, 64GB SSD and 840 EVO (120GB) OS drive were all using MBR.
I guess I forgot/chose at random the last time I added non-OS drives to this.

I'm curious to know if it would be worth my time bothering to reinstall Windows using GPT on the EVO, or if that's even possible via normal methods. Bear in mind this can be an extremely long, boring process.

I'm also interested to know if I should quickly reformat the other two drives (The Black and the SSD) to GPT as well. This process wouldn't be half as painful considering neither of them keep any programs.

Full specs listed in signature. Neither mechanical drives are greater than 2TB. The extra partitioning/storage cap isn't currently an issue for any of my drives. Merely concerned about performance and longevity.
The OS version is Windows 7 Professional 64-bit.

Oh and, upvotes/solutions will be a thing here.

Don't bother. GPT allows for addressing of drive larger than 2TB, and your 840 Evo is less than 2TB. There wont be any performance benefit or any other reason to do that. If you did you would have to format the disk and redo it, and make sure the BIOS will read a GPT boot drive.
