Hi guys, I have 2x4gb sticks of corsair vengeance pro ram @1866, and in the bios I have changed it to the 1866 option. but when I look at task manager it appears as 1333? What does this mean? They are in the correct dual channel slots and are compatible with my mobo (msi a88x-g45) so what is the problem?
Thanks.

Where did you set your ram to 1866? First set that back to its default settings, then try setting the XMP Profile.
If that don't work try one stick at a time to see what it does. Also go into Windows and see if the OS will show the correct ram speed, when only a 1 stick of ram is plugged in.

cool, so I rebooted with one stick and I could enable xmp. The I did it again and put the second stick in and it let me enable xmp. but on task manager it reads as 1600 now :(

I tried one stick and set it to xmp, and in task manager it says 1600, in the bios it says 1866. And using CUPID it varies between 1790 - 1820...
so i'm guessing its just a fault in task manager....
