Hey guys, so I'm most likely building a new gaming rig soon. The primary game i will be playing is star citizen. The problem I'm having is finding a good cpu/gpu combo. I was looking at the and fx8350 and asus radeon r9 270x 2gb. Is this any good? I have a little more than $600 to spend on the whole system, so i don't have a lot to spend. I will also be doing video editing on it as well. I am going to base the build off this: http://www.amazon.com/The-Grizzly/lm/R2PFOL8FKLNQF9 and am currently working on a setup on pc parts picker, so when i have that up any comments about it are welcome, especially ones telling of anything i should know/issues. Thanks, and i hope for a reply.

You can go for a fx6300 and a r9 280/x, that'll help you more on the gamin side, your fx8350 and 270x is leaning more towards the editing side

Thanks for the quick reply. Does the computer in the link look good? its within my price range and is pretty awesome, but I'm not sure. Is the mother board a piece of crap and won't last long? Im kinda skeptical about that.

Looks fine, but the board is micro atx, so it's smaller than the normal sized boards, but it's made by gigabyte and they're quite reliable, so it shouldn't be that much of trouble

Another thing, i looked up the 3600 and it doesn't look like its as fast/powerful, as it only is at 3.5 ghz and 6 cores. The 8450 has 8 cores and 4ghz

Another quick question, is a 550 power supply good for the 6300/8350 and 2x 280x in crossfire or is it pushing it?

No where near enough, you'd need at least 750 i'd say

Is 750 pushing it?

I'd say a 800w would be safe bet, but a good 750W will do

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/QjMQK8 Is this good so far? Any price cuts i could make? Also, thanks for all your help even with this going past what the title said, and intel and nvidia are definitely an option as well for the cpu/gpu.

If you can afford to go nvidia get the 4670k with a z87, or if you have more money get a 4690k and a z97 board and change psu to a seasonic or xfx one, cx aren't very good

Thanks, I'm trying to figure out ways to cut costs. Also, will the r8 280 run 2 monitors? and whats the difference between the 280 and 280x?
