Good extension cord for new build?

Just go to home depot or lowes and get a general purpose grounded (3 prong) extension cord that's rated for at least 10A and 650W. Most of them can handle much more than that. Or you can refit the outlet with a grounded receptacle - if you do this, make sure the power for the receptacle is shutdown for any work on it aside from initial multimeter check.
