Hi everyone this is my first post. I' am going to build a gaming PC (it will be my first build) and I was wondering if i' am doing everything right. I want to run my games on 1080p. I will be playing battlefield 4, assassin's creed black flag, pretty much all new games.

From what I mentioned on the post I posted this is what I would go for if you can spend an extra $32. ;)

CPU: Intel Core i7-4790K 4.0GHz Quad-Core Processor ($339.99 @ Newegg)
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler ($29.98 @ OutletPC)
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-Z97X-SLI ATX LGA1150 Motherboard ($119.99 @ Newegg)
Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-1866 Memory ($166.99 @ Newegg)
Storage: Samsung 840 EVO 120GB 2.5" Solid State Drive ($87.79 @ Amazon)
Storage: Seagate Barracuda 2TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($84.99 @...
The first problem is the motherboard. If you will be overclocking with your CPU ( yours is unlocked) then the motherboard is not suitable, you will need a Z Series. And you also missed out in a CPU cooler.

I would personally get a HDD from Seagate for $1 cheaper, but WD is still fine. I would get a 120GB SSD by Samsung as 512GB is not needed.

You could also reduce the cost on the PSU and bring it down to a Bronze certificate as Gold only performs 5% more energy efficient.

Is there any justification for the i7? You can bump it down to a i5 for little performance loss and add a 780 ti. ODs are no longer needed as you can install windows from a USB drive. Thermaltake smart series are Channelwell OEMs. XFX psus are Seasonic OEMs.
