Deleted All of My Windows Partitions

I did something stupid today.

I was trying to downgrade my new laptop from a pre-installed Windows 8.1 to Windows 7 via disc. I was getting some help doing this, and I was advised to delete all of the partitions on the Install Windows window (which I did). Then I spent an hour trying to figure out why I couldn't get past the Install Windows window before realizing that I've royally screwed up.

And then I installed Ubuntu.

So I'm not quite sure what to do now that I'm running Ubuntu on my new laptop but want to run Windows 7, despite not having any of the data in the partitions that I'm supposed to have because I deleted them all.

Help?

Once partitions are deleted, they need to be recreated (though not necessarily in the same size), initialized and then formatted before you can use them. The Windows installation program should have given you the option to select where to install. If no options were offered, you should be looking for an "advanced" button which *should* take you to a disk management screen which allows you to partition, initialize and format your drive(s).

As per the advice I had, right after I deleted all of my partitions, I created a single partition in the Install Windows window and formatted it, but the Setup wouldn't allow me to proceed past that window. Whenever I try to install Windows now (a few hours later), I still encounter the same occurence.
