I researched a new graphics card for awhile (radeon r9 270x msi), and also found it needed a new psu. Anyway, on the day I ordered it, my brother wanted to take a look inside the computer. He took out the graphics card, which I never had done when I looked around in it. Every time we unplugged it from everything else and put it on a table. Anyway, my brother may have been a bit rough with it(GeForce gt 610). Then we ordered new graphics card and psu, and I put the card back in. I plugged my pc in a bit later, and turned it on, and no display. I took out the card again, blew in the slot(As suggested by other online sites) and put it back in. I did not touch anything else in the case in fear of breaking something. Any suggestions? And I will also ask, if this card is indeed broken- once I install the new card and psu, will everything be fixed?

As long and you guys' didn't rip it out of the slot and damage the actual slot.. It will be totally fine once you throw the new card in there. If you have more than one PCI slot, try installing the card in another slot (You won't have drivers but it will boot no problems).

Nah, didn't rip it or anything. Just wiggled it a bit to get it out. There is another slot, but it's not the same size sadly. Do you think the card is broke? Also, will it boot up fine once the new card is in? I don't have any way to install the drivers

You won't need drivers on the initial boot, It will just run basic graphics like your desktop. All you need to do is hop on google and find your current drivers for the new card

Are you sure that your motherboard is compatible with the new graphic card you bought? What motherboard are you using? Also, did you hook up the Power Cable to the R9 270X?

Yeah, I made sure they were compatible before buying. I don't know the exact specs of the mobo, since I did not write it down. The graphics card is still on its way, though, so I can't hook up power at all. The issue is that the current card right now, after being taken out and put back in gives no display error on monitor.

Much better to wait for the next card you'll have. In the meantime, use the integrated gpu.

Sorry, but how would I go about to activate that? The integrated GPU?

Just unplug your GPU and boot up, it should start up the on-board graphics by default. Remember to plug your display cable into the motherboard and not your GPU.

Alright I was able to get that working. I've also noticed on another forum post that uninstalling the drivers then placing the card back in may be an option. Would that work? Also, the fan on the current card works. (GeForce GT 610) But still no display from it.

That's a good idea. Go ahead and try that, hope for the best. Since you have that r9 on the way, i wouldn't worry to much about that 610. The onboard graphics are totally fine for normal use and some light games. Once the r9 arrives you can see weather it's the 610 having issues or the PCI slot itself.
