Basically, I didn't perform a clean install of windows 8.1 (by accident). I kinda just slipped the disc in when I wasn't thinking and installed completely before realizing that you should always perform a clean install for the best performance. I have 8.1 up and running perfectly, but there is a folder named "Windows.Old" underneath the normal "windows" folder. Is this going to be a problem? Will it affect the Acer eRecovery Management partition on my drive at all? I just want to make sure there isn't anything completely wrong with my system so that if it is not required, I won't have to format the drive and re install windows again. I have about 100gb of files still on here from the windows 7 install that I can still access, and if possible would rather not have to format and reinstall. My laptop is an Acer Laptop (obviously) with a core i7 2670qm, HD graphics 3000, 6gb RAM, and a 1tb HDD. Thank you
EDIT: Also, I was wondering if it would be safe to somehow get rid of the Windows.old folder. I am upgrading my hard drive to a 250gb Samsung 840 EVO, and would like to save as much space as possible. Not a big deal but would like to know.
