I have an older mobo(Nvidia SLI 780i) and I recently bought a 7870 MSI gpu to upgrade from my radeon 5800 series. I installed the gpu with the 2x 6 pin slots, the pc boots, but I get no video. I've gone into the bios and its set to launch on PCI, and I also uninstalled my current video drivers with no luck(reinstalled drivers to write this) Any help?

Quick specs
dual core processor
4gb ram
750w PS
One cd/dvd
7200 speed HDD

I should also add that I plugged in the new card under my radeon card right now. It runs, but it doesnt show up on the device manager. Also I dont think it's a bad gpu because I bought two, and both are doing the same thing

Plug in just the new card. Don't leave the old card plugged in. Also replace drivers. Usually AMD to AMD card swaps are easyyyy but drivers can be a bitch. Check to see if the fan on the card is running after you have just the one plugged in.

Thanks for helping. I have tried with just the new card in, and I have uninstalled drivers/software directly from the device manager for the old card before installing the new one, still no display through the HDMI, or DVI port. The fan does run , and it even has a blue LED that lights up on it. Any other suggestions? Nothing more frustrating than having a new card you cant use lol!

Don't uninstall drivers from device manager. Google uninstall AMD drivers and there should be a utility you can download to do it.
