Hello! I will be getting the Logitech G502 Gaming Mouse soon and I thought I might as well buy a nice mouse pad aswell. The 2 mouse pads I'm interested in currently is the Logitech G240 (Cloth) and the G440 (Hard surface). I will be playing FPS mostly and I use a desktop if that helps. So I will not be needing to move my mouse pad alot. I will also probably will be gaming with 1800DPI mostly . I'm mainly worried about fraying issue with the G240 cloth. Any advice is appreciated! :)

i tried out the g502 proteus core for about a week.

good button placement compared to other mice. decent shape too.

i would like to note that i found the mouse just a bit narrow for my medium sized hands and bottom-side grip half-palm sort of grip style. my ring and pinky finger curled under a bit when gripping in this way which was uncomfortable. otherwise, great mouse.

about fraying... i think the razer goliathus pads have edge stitching around them to prevent fraying.

i personally used a cloth mousepad (click build in my signature for photo of my pad) and it worked well.

i normally advise against hard pads because some brands/designs can actually be a bit abrasive and wear the teflon feet of your pad faster than they would wear...

One other thing I'm worried about is how well the G502 would respond on each type of mouse pad. I don't know if it does well on hard mat or a soft one. Also, would you think that the G502 would be suitable for a claw grip? Seems like it should be.

as i said, i used it on a cloth mousepad and it performed very well. the teflon feet were great and very slick too which made it glide well too. cant say about hard mats since i refuse to use them for a few reasons.

you could probably claw grip the proteus. i palm grip so i cannot say for a fact though.

I see. I have the Razer 2013 Deathadder currently and it's fine for claw grip, however, for the same price the G502 offers more functions and better build quality.

my preferred mouse is also the deathadder.

the g502 feels narrower than the deathadder which is why i personally couldnt use it and ended up returning it. the deathadder is the perfect width for me. not sure about you.

the deathadder also typically costs less at $50-60 while the proteus is about $80 right now so its a bit more expensive generally.

it does have more buttons and build quality was good

Hmmm. I got the DeathAdder for $80 here in Canada. Same price as the G502. I really liked the way I could hold the DeathAdder though, yeah. I shall give the G502 a try aswell and see if I can get used to the width. I have used a Razer Lachesis before (Loved the design) and it was narrow aswell so we'll see.

Sorry for the necropost but do you still use the g502 and have the feet worn off?

Hello!

I don't think you were asking me, but I'll tell you anyways. I have had the G502 for months now and it's still as good as new and an amazing mouse overall. Let me know if you have any other questions! :)

Hey, I own the G440 Hard mouse pad and I'd like to ask if it would cause the feet of the G502 to scrape off?

Thanks!

Hey there, please be assured that that will not happen. I have the hard mousepad from Logitech and it works like a charm. It will be no problem. :)

I have the Razer Deathadder, (I decided on buying it because of the Razer "what mouse is best for you test"). The back foot was already "off?" when I received it in the mail. Not sure if I was unlucky or not but they all wore off in less than a month. I was also using the Logitech cloth mouse pad. I'm think I'm going to buy a G502 and sell my Deathadder on ebay.

Just an opinion.
I think Razer is overpriced. :kaola:
Just an opinion.
That's it.
Just an opinion.
Nothing else.

Lol I like how you state your opinion so cautiously. You're going to be very happy with the G502. Amazing mouse! I also went from 2 Razers to Logitech G502. :)

Well you know, people on the internet... I bet they could SOMEHOW make my offensive or make it look like I'm an ignorant "fart".
Although this forum seems much more mature than YouTube. :)

Yeah, these forums are way more mature. I've always gotten help whenever I needed and it's really wonderful to have someone provide you with the right information and steer you in the right direction.

good guys, but no one replied about which's better: G240 or G440? you were only comparing mice but no one is talking about the mouse pad and that was the reason that I came here.
Can you help me with this please?

This is probably not useful but ill throw my 2 cents in for future people who may be considering the logitech hard mouse pad. I used it with an Anker 8200 dpi lazer mouse, so a standard gaming mouse nothing too crazy and at first the mouse pad was awesome - very very smooth with plenty of glide (significantly more than the steel series qck cloth pad which i was using previously) however literally after i would say 2 - 3 months the mouse pad really started to lose its smoothness and glide and this process definitely took a toll on my mouse feet too. I'm now at about 4-5 months usage and the pad is significantly less smooth with a fair bit of friction and has basically worn out my mouses feet. Maybe it was just my set up or something but people looking to buy this pad be warned of it potentially wearing out really quickly and burning through you mouse feet.

Well, I bought about 1 month and a week the G502 gaming mouse and G240 Cloth mouspad. Both are great and the thin cloth mousepad feels good and does the work very well, I can recommend these products.
