Hello every helper on this site. I have no display on my monitor, which was working with other computer. I have perfectly working system on the other day and after couple of days later I start my pc it had the above mention problem . Now I want to tell about my situation to clarify it bit more for any one who help me. I have this pc Gateway E4000 series 2005 built . I mostly use it for my son to play games and to surf the net. It has intel mb 40 gb hdd ,fdd cd rom two RAM one is 512 mb and second is 256mb. There is no other thing attached such as graphic card or sound card . I have read every possible thread on similar problem and did everything as suggested on this site. First I check both ram individually on each slot simultaneously no boot. Then I remove cmos battery ,onboard reset jumper ,short battery terminal one by one no boot no display. Then I remove every thing from mb ( hdd. cd drive, fdd, ram ) long beep resulted. I think that says mb is ok isn't it? I pulled power cord and press cpu power button for two minutes no display still. After reading one thread I check psu which had in built check switch , the green wire goes to 5 volt other voltages are seem normal ,4 pin processor power supply has similar voltage as normally psu provide it. so It ruled out psu issue, isn't it? Now I became frustrated . I want to mention that when every thing is working normally in the past fdd never make any sound. But now It made strange sound after fix time interval about 30 seconds or so, as if it wants to start but could not. so I remove it completely as it is not working ,but still no boot. Can any one give valuable suggestion what I missed? thanks in advance if any one help me.

It could be your PSU doesn't provide the power your computer needs anymore, so when nothing was hooked up to the motheboard it had enough power to beep, but otherwise it can't.

Your system is a pretty old POS at this point and it dying out like that isn't unreal.

Dear James , thank you for your quick reply ,as I mention before that psu is providing power to each section even processor is also getting warm every usb port provide enough power because when I connect my usb mouse to any of the five port it lighted up my keyboard is also usb type but it did not lighted up, my memory card reader is also having light on drive, hdd is also spinning as usual . I also disconnected the psu from mb socket and measured the voltage found normal using test switch . I understand that this is the floating voltage but now I am going to try this psu on other pc. yesterday I conect psu to old same type of pc it started without any problem. so it is not the psu too. can any one help in this topic?

Yo take the cpu fan off of the cpu turn on the sys for a couple of seconds touch the top of the cpu with your fingers if its getting hot than that means its active and getting power. It could be the Southbridge thats the problem.
