I've installed system information viewer/app center for my gigabyte motherboard, and there's a Smart Fan system that will let me dictate what speed the fan should run based on CPU temperature, similar to what MSI Afterburner lets you do with your GPU. For reference, I have a stock speed i5 4670k and a Hyper 212 Evo cooler.
Should I set and apply a profile here as part of trying to improve my temperatures? Or are my fans already running at max by default (I have yet to do anything in the software or bios to change my CPU/case fan speeds, only my GPU fans).
EDIT: I've also noticed that system information viewer is reporting a lower CPU temp in general than MSI Afterburner (right now, idling, MSI afterburner is giving me an average CPU temp of 32-38, and system information viewer is giving me an average CPU temp of 25-30). Is this because SIV is reporting the general processor temp, and MSI is reporting the core temps? Or are they reporting the same thing and one is more/less accurate?
