Asus M5A97 R2.0 Mobo supports OC?

I am gonna use an overclocked videocard on this motherboard and i want to know if this mobo supports it. The video card is a Geforce gtx 780 if that matters. Also there seems to be two of the same motherboard with similar if not the same name. Are they the same motherboard and do they have the same specs? If so, do they support overclocking?

Yes the board can handle it fine, actually the motherboard never hinders discrete GPU overclock since all the controls are on the GPU card itself.

Yea,both mobos can support OCing.

better CPU overclocking capabilities cause of higher vrm (6+2) and its the same price as m5a97 r2.0 which has only 4+2

The M5A97 rev 2.0 has 6+2 power phases as well.

m5a97 r2.0 has manual (4+2)
m5a97 Evo r2.0 has digital (6+2)
m5a99fx evo r2.0 has digital (6+2)

but the 99fx has 990 chipset.

The 4 power phases on that board are high quality. Got my 6300 to 4.5 GHz easy w that board. + 212 EVO

99fx is still better overclocking board, and it has better voltage settings.

and they are same price.

Well for the same price obviously go with the 990fx chipset.
