Game running so slow

I just installed Civilization 5 on my PC and it takes a lot of time to load and save which is really frustating. I think the problem is with the new hard drive (PATA 160GB). What do you guys think the problem is?...

My System specs,
Dual Core processor 2.80GHz
2 GB DDR2 RAM
Radeon HD 6570

you answered your own question , but just to rule out other possibilities ..

1- Check your CPU cooling .
2- Clean your computer from dust (usually a blower does the trick).
3- Clean you RAM and it's slot with AKAI spray or any similar product .
