Am I grounded? I made my own wristband.

So i just folded a big sheet of aluminium foil into a wristband shape and tied it tight to my wrist with some bread package wire, then shoved an automotive test-light through it and clamped the other end to a screw that's partially connected to my PSU and case (Ie: Screwed in half-way to leave room for the alligator clip to latch on)

The PSU cable is plugged in to an active power strip but the PSU itself is in the O position.

Does this function as an antistatic device? I'd love the green-light to start putting my stuff together. I am sitting on carpet (can't avoid it) with the computer itself on the little tile i do have near the fireplace, just enough room for the case and a few components and nothing else.

Solution
All I do is touch my PC case from time to time. I've built numerous PCs and have not once used a wristband. I've never had a problem.

It should do. But tbh as long as you touch something metal occasionally (like your case), there is very little chance anything going wrong.
I have pretty much completely stopped doing anything about static when building/upgrading and had no problems so far.
