I have a Packard Bell Dot S Netbook

I've reinstalled Windows 7 from a USB as the standard Packard Bell re-installation was't working.

Now I have no LAN or WiFi at all, can't even detect the hardware. I've reinstalled the drivers from the PB website but it's made no difference.

HELP!!!!!

:-(

Hi, what do you see in Device Manager? Can you see some yellow exclamation marks, for example, related to these devices?

Secondly, if it's 'simply' a driver issue, try downloading Drivermax, do a scan, and report back what you see related to these devices. (Two free downloads a day allowed).

Presumably you have had these working previously? Or was this the reason for a reinstall?

If your wireless NIC in your laptop isn't being detected, try using ethernet to connect to the internet, and if that doesn't work, you may need to buy an external USB wireless NIC as a temporary solution to the problem. USB NIC's come with an installation CD and will get you wireless internet untill you can fix your NIC. Also, check your BIOS to make sure your Network card is enabled, and also make sure if it can be turned off, that it is turned on.

I have yellow exclamation marks next to "Ethernet Controller", "Network Controller" & Video Controller".

I've tried updating drivers ect from the device manager but nothing works.

I tried downloading (from another computer) Drivermax as you suggested but as I don't have an internet connection on the PB laptop which I'm having a problem with it won't run a scan!

Yes the PB laptop did work correctly but it crashed and wouldn't reboot so I was forced to reload Windows from a USB.

Can't see anything about the WiFi in the BIOS.

I have got an Ethernet cable plugged in but it doesn't seem to detect that either.

Right now a carrier pigeon has more wifi than this laptop!

I have another laptop so can download to that and then transfer files across (which is what I did with the drivers). But just don't know what else to do.

Hi, I also hoped you had a working ethernet connection as Drivermax and similar are only useful on the PC for which you need drivers, and requires an internet connection of course.

Now, you mentioned you had tried to install the P.B. drivers. What do you see if you go to Device Manager and check Properties, Driver, for each one you tried to install? Presumably you tried a restart after installing those.

Did you get any useful message when you installed them?
