I am building my first gaming desktop (On a 800$ Budget) and was wondering if I should but a 3.5 GHz i5 4 cores in OR a i7 3.2 GHz 8 core. I also have 2x4GB of RAM and a nVidia GTX 750Ti 2GB. Just wondering what the best way to go is! Thanks in advance everyone!

In your title you put "laptop" and now you are talking about a desktop. If you are doing gaming desktop on a budget then go with I5. The money you save from the I5, put them into buying GTX 760.

Something like this. You can always change the case. And I left 80 bucks for you to chose windows 7 or 8. Cheers

If I can give you a sugestion, I got myself quite a decent gaming build for 860 euro's... swtich the CPU to and AMD CPU, it's more powerhungry but cheaper, but it'll do the job (get a 8320 or 8350). you'll also have to change the mobo, I myself use an asus M5A97 r2.0. and then you could even go for a gtx 770/760 graphics card.
