Hi, I recently built my rig and all was running fine until I added a second hdd, a wd 1tb 7200rpm. my rig has a gtx 750 ti, gigabyte z97x, Intel I5, thermaltake 600w, 120g Kingston ssd to run os, wd 1tb for games and additionals. Everything ran great for weeks without the wd hhd but soon after installation my computer will blue screen with a bc116 error. I updated all the drivers and cleared the cmos. I'm at a loss as of what to do. The tower doesn't get hot at all so I doubt it's a cooling issue any help is greatly appreciated.

Edit..and now my screen won't recognize the hdmi or vga cables I have, no signal.

bugcheck 116 is VIDEO_TDR_ERROR

generally it is the video card driver or hardware failing to respond to windows.

most often: fix by a update to the graphics driver and reboot, turn off any overclocking software on the graphics card,
disable overclocking of the PCI bus in the BIOS if enabled. (assuming the gpu fain is working as expected, no dust slowing it down, and it has proper power connections to the supplemental connectors from the power supply to the GPU)

you can also get this if the graphic driver gets deadlocked in its driver. Disable unused sound support in the graphics driver using control panel, device manager. (it will just change the timing)
