Im going to buy a g3258 processor because of a game i play which uses only 1 core. I don't have the budget for a z87 or z97 mobo. I heard that bios updates for asus will enable the support for g3258 on their h81, b85, h87 and h97 mobo. The only motherboards available in my area is an asus h81m-d plus and b85m-g. Iv'e read actual overclocks done on specific h81 and b85 asus mobos like the h81m plus or the b85m-g r2.0 , unfortunately those 2 i mentioned were not among the list of tested mobos that was used to OC the g3258. My question is, can you overclock the g3258 on an Asus b85m-g motherboard? Can you adjust both the multiplier and the voltage for this mobo? How much can you push the g3258 on an Asus b85m-g?

According to the Asus website you can update the BIOS to accept a Pentium G3258 CPU. As for overclock success, proceed at your own risk.
