last December I built this rig it was a budget build and i had planned for being able to upgrade in the future. http://pcpartpicker.com/p/6vkKsY the one thing i didn't take into consideration was my psu..
I really don't want to have to get a whole new PSU for the upgrades i would like but i was planning on getting a after market cooler on my CPU so i could do a minor over clock on it. I would also like to add a second Sapphire Radeon 7770 to the build. I wasn't sure if that 500 watt PSU will be able to handle the upgrades. I looked on Sapphire's website at the 7770s and it said the recommended PSU wattage for crossfire 7770s was 600w but I put together all the upgrades and it doesn't even come up to 400 watts http://pcpartpicker.com/user/eboy1997/saved/N9QcCJ I do understand that adding more to a low wattage PSU will make the fan rev up but i'm not worried about noise as long as its stable i'm fine with it. Besides it is a 500 watt PSU I should be able to get 400 watts out of it safely right?
