I just plopped a corsair h55 aio cooler on my i7-4770k and went to check out the cpu temps (no overclocking) on msi afterburner. MSI told me that my 1st cpu core was running at over 150 degrees. I quickly shutdown and reapplied my thermal paste and reseated the pump. I rebooted and still msi was saying over 150, so I downloaded two other cpu temp checking programs and both of them told me that my temps were totally within reason (30). Anyone had issues with MSI giving them incorrect temps before?

Solution
Afterburner is either reporting false temps, reporting in F and not C, or simply is being dumb.
MSI Afterburner is used to monitor GPUs for the most part, but it does give faulty reading, friends GPU fan is running at "755346" RPM.

I would use other software to monitor temps.

Yeah it was telling me it was going over 90 Degrees Celsius and my computer had no load and i felt the case and felt nothing so I think MSI Afterburner isn't that trust on the CPU side of things, however the GPU side its really accurate IMO
