Hey guys,

The router is running a Tomato software

I just bought this used netgear router it worked really fine untill i started messing with the settings. I changed DHCP to off, the wifi settings to channel 13, a password and the IP settings of the router.
I had changed the routers IP to 192.168.2.1.

so i tried connection to the router in my browser it didnt work
(It still turns on and the lights still flash.) So i pressed the factory reset button this didnt work. i think because it runs tomato software. but when i now enter the gateway it should be on (10.0.0.1) it shows "This webpage is not available" it does show the Tomato icon on the tabs in the top of chrome.

Any help would be highly appreciated
also the Router does show ip in the CMD it tells me its on 10.0.0.1

Thanks again

I have done a simple reset and a Hard reset. Both without succes.

Is there a way to put different firmware on this Router so its totally clean?

I want to use it as a switch and it works just fine right now as a switch. It makes the wifi signal and it makes 3 extra kabel outputs. I saw someone who had this too and they had it on a different subnet.
I have scanned my network with angry IP but no results leading to the AP's IP. so i thought my PC can only scan the subnet its on. So how do i change my subnet to like 192.168.0.x 192.168.1.x or 192.168.3.x?

You can re-install Tomato, or try using DD-WRT or the OEM firmware if you want to start from scratch.

Using the Netgear in a switch configuration will not allow you to create a separate subnet.

If you wanted to create a separate subnet, you would need to connect the WAN port of the Netgear to the LAN port of the source router.

If your goal is just to extend your network, then I'd recommend avoiding a second subnet and keeping the device in a switch configuration. Creating a second subnet will cause problems, such as inability to share files and printers outside the subnet, and causing a double NAT situation which is detrimental to online gaming, among other issues.

If the router has been reset to defaults, then DHCP should be enabled. Be sure that DHCP is enabled on your PC and connect it to one of the router's numbered LAN ports.

From a command prompt, type IPCONFIG and find the default gateway address. This is the address you'll need to use to access the router's Tomato firmware GUI.

From there you should determine whether or not you need to reinstall the firmware or make some adjustment to the settings. Post back if you need further help.

This does not work because the reset doesnt work. So I need a way to reinstall firmware without the ip. I will try the reset again today. But I dont think it will work
