My Crossblade Ranger is an fm2+ socket motherboard and I cant find any decent amd a-series quad core processors in the UK. So do i need my processor to be fm2+ or can I go for fm2? If I can, what features will I lose by using fm2?

You can go FM2 only, for example a A10-6800K will still work in that motherboard.

All that you will loose I believe is PCIE 3.0, so a richland or trinity cpu in that motherboard will only make the PCIE work at gen 2.0 specs. Which isn't a big deal as all graphics cards can't even use all the bandwidth gen 3.0 offers.
