Graphics Card not showing up under device manager after fresh windows 7 install

I recently reinstalled windows 7 on my HP Pavilion. I've had an HD Radeon 7870 for about a year, and it's worked well. After the OS installed, the card doesn't appear in the device manager, and I don't have the original box/disc that the graphics card came with. What's the first step I should take?

Make sure your monitor is plugged into the graphics card and the graphics card power connectors are connected. Boot up Windows and go to AMD's website and download the latest graphics drivers and install them. That should be all you need to do.
