*mem ok button* makes some default RAM settings for this mobo.
So, your computer do beeps while working? or while power off?

these are the beep codes for that board, i think its the RAM, are they in the right slots?

While power off? :)
That is magic.
Check if fans not spinning, possible mobo is not turned off, but rebooted and in restart mode (looks like fail to restart)

I recently built a computer using the ASUS M5A97 mobo, and everything works fine boots up fine... when I shut down the computer right before it shuts off there is some very weird beep-type noise that occurs every time before complete shut off, I am very curious as to what this could be, can't find any answers. My problem sounds similar to the one described above, although it is not 2 separate beeps just one continues weird beep; does not even sound like your average beep like the one you get at start up.

I don't remember my M5A97 R2.0 ever having built in speakers. The beep noise on power on or off is probably your case .

Well weird thing is my case has no speakers it is the HAF X case. I am beginning to think it is the little beep sequence speaker, that comes with the motherboard, that's making this weird beeping noise upon shut off. Do you think this could happen if that beep sequence speaker was faulty? @gaujo did you ever resolve the issue you have described above, because it sounds similar to mine.
