Asus GeForce Error

I got an Asus GeForce GTX660 OC edition and when i overclock, the games slow down and the computer crashes, why is it happening? I overclock it like youtube says and nope,

It could be any of 3 things:
1) Temps are too high and causing the GPU to throttle/crash
2) The voltage is too low for the higher clock speeds, causing a crash
3) PSU can't supply enough power to the system.

It is most likely number 1 or 2. What are your temps under load? If it's overheating, put the fan at 100% (if you can handle the noise) or lower clock speeds. Also if your card had unlocked voltage, try raising it a bit (.025), or if it's locked, lower the clock speeds.

Your overclock is not stable. EVERY card is different. Just because one 660 overclocks a certain way means nothing for yours.

It is just the overclock not being stable. The system is fine. Leave the card stock.

Is that meant to be a gaming computer?

Yeah, just don't overclock it. Makes sense this is an editing computer, because it was clearly not designed with gaming most in mind.

You can still OC it, just take it up slowly and test as you go to ensure it's stable, work with it when you have some free time and keep track of the settings you use as you go, if time runs out, keep the settings of the last good OC and can always drop back to defaults then start again when you have more free time

Not really. I would recommend buying a single GPU. I would also replace your PSU.

If you want you can SLI the 660s, but a single GPU will be better all round.

If thinking SLI, and can go a bit higher pricewise, could go 760, and sell the 660 to recoup some of the cost, then see how that does for you, down the road could SLI the 760 or sell it and move up again

The Cx units are lower quality. Not recommended for a build as high end as yours.

I recommend an XFX, Antec, Seasonic 650w unit and a new GPU like a gtx770.
