I am buying this case http://www.corsair.com/en-gb/obsidian-series-450d-mid-t...
and I will be replacing the intake fans with a new pair which is the same size but has red LEDs. Could I mount those intake fans on the top mount in the case as cooling fans or would they just keep being intake fans/disrupt airflow?

Front and bottom = intake
rear and top = out

The fans can be mounted as either intakes or exhausts, you just turn them around and they should have holes for screws on both sides. If you mount the stock fans in the top, use them as exhausts and the two front ones as intakes.

You should be fine with the stock fans, if you get new ones you're basically just adding an extra two exhaust fans. So you'll be creating a negative air pressure in your case which could draw some dust in. If you seem to be getting a lot of dust in your case after a while you could try just using one of the stock fans in the top.

Yes but can i use the intake fans as interior coolers. AKA mount the fans to the top to cool components. Also I've switched the NZXT H440 case. But I still plan on mounting fans on the roof of it to cool my motherboard and processor. Is this needed or practical?

Mounting them on the roof will not do anything really. I am not fully sure, but I think where fans normally go, there is some form of mesh for airflow. The steel roof will not let any air pass through.

How do I make a fan push air in as supposed to out and vice versa?

Will the fans already there do or should i add some "roof" fans or extra exhausts?

You should 'add' fans only if the current cooling situation is insufficient.
Get it, build it. See what happens. If you need more cooling later, fans are easy to add.

Unscrew it. Flip it over. Screw it back in. Generally, the side with the label sticker is the 'pull' side.

If I do add fans where would you recommend I add them?

It comes with 3 in front and 1 in back:

"Front: 2x 140/3x120mm (3 x 120mm FN V2 Fans Included)
Top: 2x 140/3x120mm
Rear: 1x 140/120mm (1 x 140mm FN V2 Fan Included) "

To add (only if needed)...a top exhaust.
