I'm trying to fix a Toshiba Satellite L455D-S5976 that can't connect to the internet wirelessly. I was able to connect via Ethernet cable.

The first thing I did was run a Malware-Bytes scan which found no threats. I've researched that Norton Anti-Virus could have restricted internet access after its subscription ran out, which it had, and ran its remover tool to completely remove it from the computer; that did not work. I've tried re-installing drivers to no avail. I've most recently replaced the wireless card with a new one, and when that didn't work I came here.

I've done a good amount of searching for a solution but could not find one, so I'm going to do my best to describe the problem here.

Upon trying to connect to a wireless network via the System Tray icon, it finds zero available connections. The wireless status light on the front of the computer is solid orange, and shuts off when turning off wireless via FN+F8, so I know the wireless is actually turned on. Under 'Network Adapters' in the Device Manager, two devices are listed: "Realtek PCIe FE Family Controller" and "Realtek RTL8187SE Wireless LAN PCIE Network Adapter #2". Both are enabled and "working properly" under 'Device Status'. As said above, I was able to connect using an Ethernet cable.

Aside from that, I'm not sure what else to do or what may be useful information to you. If you need any other information, let me know and I'll do my best to get it posted quickly.

Thanks in advance.

Unfortunately, I get an "unexpected error" when trying to use the troubleshoot wizard, and it does nothing. I forgot to mention that in the original post.
