I bought a PC like 6 months ago and until now there haven't been any problems, however, a few days ago i was playing a lot of games, one day i was editing a video on sony vegas and after that I joined my friends to play the beta of Archeage, I could play before running at solid 30 FPS and there was no problem, but after editing that video my FPS went down to 10. I restared my PC because i tought it was just some lag and the problem was still there, i checked my CPU temps and they were at 60ºC, I installed some fans to my PC but the temperatures stood the same, the problem is that after 5 to 10 minutes after my PC is turned on, it starts to "lag", all animations and loadings are very slow, i tried changing some setting on the PC power plan to change the minimum of my PC cpu usage from 100% to 5% and the maximum to 90%, it made a little difference, lowering the temps to 40ºC when doing nothing, when i watch a video its very laggy and videogames always run very slow, this has never happend before, the temperautres seem to be always between 50-60ºC and after a few minutes of the PC being turned on, the problem begins to start, also my CPU fan is very noisy.

EDIT: I noticed that i need to use some cooling paste on the processor, I will try to but it soon and see if the problem presists.

My CPU its an AMD A8-6600K APU with Radeon HD Graphics
I have 4 gb of ram and i have Windows 7 Ultimate x64

you would think the paste would be good after only six months but thats where i would start.make sure your cpu cooler is firmly seated when you do.

Your heatsink is probably causing the problems, make sure to clean your pc first top to bottom. If you want get a 212 or a Tx3/T4 and overclock your cpu for more preformance and get faster ram to get better FPS ;)

i think before spending money on parts you may not need,i would be inclined to clean the heatsink and apply more paste, especially considering he has had the pc for six months and hasnt had a problem until now.

I have applied the new thermal paste and I also adjusted a loose RAM card, temperatures however are the same as before, possibly even higher, about the performance, I started watching a few videos yesterday and after a few minutes the performance was fine, I began playing the last episode of the walking dead season 2 and it was fine, but today I wanted to play some Unturned and FPS dropped from 80 to 10 - 20, then my whole PC started to slow down.

Is your CPU Overclocked? Whats your mobo? Is it a reliable one?

It doesnt seem to be overclocked, my motherboard its an ASUS A55M-E so yeah, the problem feels very random because only a few times i could use it for a few hours without it getting slow.

I seriously don't know whats wrong with your cpu temps :p  I'd recommend getting a heatsink for cheap (Tx3/212 evo etc.)

I would like to be sure before buying anything else, I'm kinda low on budget right now and maybe it can be cheaper to call a technician for now, also the only good and cheap heatsink i could find on my country was the Hyper T4, the NIC F3 and then bigger ones like the Hyper 612 but that is a mounstrosity.

Also i would like to add that recently i turned on my PC and immediately started to play something, my PC its usually slow after 10 minutes of doing something but the game was running fine for like 20-30 minutes and my FPS dropped immediately after minimizing the game, i was going to check my temps and FPS went down from 30-40 to 10-20, weird? Temperatures were only 53ºC.

EDIT: I did the same test again, this time i played something more graphical, MK9, the game ran like it normally would and after probably 15 minutes of playing, i exited and the performance of my PC was normal, temperature came to 44ºC, watched a video and temperature went up to 55ºC, slowing my PC again.

I'd get the T4 its cheap. and thats really wierd 0_o sounds like your cpu is throttling, by decreasing the speed/vore of your cpu it managed to lower your temp :p  Try running prime95 but while you do that check your temps at the same time.

think you may be on to something there.i agree.

it looks like a temp problem to me.like andrei said, your cpu throttles down at high temps and this slows your computer down.you can buy a hyper 212 evo from coolermaster for $20-50 cdn.this really sounds like it comes down to cooling.if it was mine and all the other fans were working properly i would replace the cooler and see what happens.

No problem man, report back if it worked :D  Also make sure your mobo supports the weight (; check their official website
