Hello,

After two hard drives failed on me one directly after another I decided to try and rebuild my computer. I installed a new motherboard and a new hard drive. After taking everything apart and putting it back together I installed win 7 ultimate on it and it worked fine. I turned the computer off to move it from the room I was working on it to the room it was actually meant to be in and when I turned it back on it went from installing updates to failed to start windows. Now every time I try to turn it on it goes to start up repair.

Any help is appreciated. This is a different problem than I had before rebuilding so I'm hoping I can fix it without buying any new parts, although I'm imagining that won't be the case.

Thank you

Yeah, I would connect the SATA cable to a different port and use a different power connection. I'm thinking there is something wrong with your PSU.

I replaced my sata cables for the hard drive and the cd player from the ones I got with the new motherboard with the ones I had before. I also switched the power going to those parts. I did both at the same time so I'm not sure what was the cause but now it is powered on and working. I have turned it on and off and it has yet to have a problem. Thank you. Now I'll just have to wait to see if it continues to work.
