Does anyone have any experience with the MSI Z97M?

Hi Guys!

I have a closet of things that I have been selling in order to build my PC.
The most recent piece I sold was a Samsung Chromebook.
I now have enough to get a motherboard for a Fractal Design Node 804.

The main one I have been considering is the MSI Z97M.
I like the colour scheme and the features it offers.

So if you MSI users would be so kind as to answer some questions for me, I would love you forever.

1) I will have a Pentium G3258 and an 4790k in this. How is the overclocking on this board with the H100i?

2) What does the EUFI look like? Could you post pictures?

3) Does the EUFI have a fan controller?

4) How is the audio and networking on the board?

5) Would you say your overall experience was good or bad?

Thanks guys!

Overclocking:
Not sure on this board specifically, but the i7-4790K should default to about 4.4GHz when using XMP mode. I strongly suggest you use that only.

I'd also recommend the Noctua NH-U14S air cooler rather than liquid cooling for this. It's quite sufficient and will actually be quieter.

Audio/networking:
Probably similar to most modern boards.

Fan controller:
The BIOS has a basic setup (can see in one of the pictures in the link), however you'd want to use the fan control software in Windows to fine tune that.

Other:
I tend to recommend ASUS, Gigabyte, and Asrock in that order. MSI has been rather hit and miss with quality. While they've gotten better I...

While they've gotten better I wouldn't even consider any motherboard (including Asus) that hasn't been out long enough for enough customer feedback to determine any issues (statistically, not just a few comments).

I know I'm way too late here, but what the hell.

1) IDK

2) The UEFI

3) It has a tab called hardware monitor where you can set custom fan curves for both system temp and CPU temp.

4) The audio was… not working at all for me. Long story short, I sent it back for RMA about a week ago and am waiting for a replacement. Overall audio experience: Shit. I didn't have an issue with the networking when I was testing it out but you will need to he threw drivers for it before it can connect to the interwebs. (Super dumb btw)

5) Overall experience was: Ok. Board was beautiful and felt very high quality except for the audio… *sigh* I'm going to bed now, it's 11:42 as I'm standing in my kitchen right now. GG world. *Drops on floor asleep*
