Replacing my PSU, help?

Solution
No, your computer uses an ATX PSU. Any modern PSU will fit. They might be longer, but not wider.

Also if you are not getting a new case, I STRONGLY recommend a fully modular PSU as you will have SO many cables to deal with in that case with absolutely ZERO cable management.

I do recommend a new case though. A gtx780 in a prebuilt case is a recipe for disaster

The form factor of the PSU is just called ATX. The ATX12V will also work, and that is the standard PSU for computers now days.

Most GPUs do not need a 750W PSU. That power is really only for SLI/Crossfire GPUs. Here is an example: GeForece GTX 780 Ti (most powerful card) only requires a 600W power supply.

If you are really needing a PSU with atleast 750W, this is one of the best. And if you are on a budget, here is a PSU that is going to do its job, but isn't the best quality.

Also, here is a very useful tier list for PSUs.

Your computer is not that bad, but the power supply in there is most likely a really bad 460 watt model. HP and Dell are notorius for using low rated power supplies. Depending on which gpu you want to buy (give us what you are thinking) you can probably use a good quality 550 to 600 watt to power your system.

I am investing in a GTX 780 by Asus. A new case is a last resort for me, apologies. I am clueless about installing hardware. This will be challenging enough. My case right now is well ventilated and the stock fans run excellently.
Im genuinely new to this. I gamed on mostly consoles for the past numerous years.
Does my new psu need to be the exact same size as my current one, to fit in the case and at the back of the case?

Also Id prefer a 750w psu, Ive heard 600 isnt enough.

Ok thank you.
Yes I know it isnt the greatest. I will be monitoring the temperature, dont worry.
My next step would be to fit a water cooler. If that makes no change then I will buy a case, and no doubt send it to a professional.
