Hey guys, I was just wondering how significant of a boost I'd get from upgrading my cpu to the FX-8350 Vishera 8-Core 4.0GHz. My current setup is as follows:

Processor: AMD FX-4170 @ 4.2 GHz
RAM: 16 GB DDR3
PSU: Corsair 750 watt
GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 760 SC 2GB GDDR5

I found a decent deal on newegg for the fx-8350. I'm a pretty serious PC-gamer, and I am pretty certain my current CPU is bottlenecking my system. Should I just overclock it (I have zero experience with this), or will the 8350 provide a worthy jump in performance in games?

you seriously thought of purchasing FX-8350 and NOT overclocking it? cmon that processor born to be overclocked you can't leave it like that! it's the supreme multitasking CPU ,also performs decent in gaming when demanded,in some specific games which utilize all 8 cores it surpasses i5's (crysis 3 for example)
