My Gigabyte GTX 770 is getting low fps in just about any game I'm playing. I did a heaven 4 benchmark and was getting a score of about 450 with 14FPS. However when I opened HWInfo64 to try to get a log of what was going on, the card began to function basically as normal, giving me a score of about 980 and over 30fps. I tried restarting the computer, and did the benchmark two more times to test it, both times getting low scores, then I opened HWInfo64 again, and it worked perfectly. What would be the reason for this, so I don't need to open HWInfo64 every time I want to play a game?

Now even HWInfo64 has stopped helping. My screen occassionally flashes like a strange purple/crazy colours, then goes black, then loads back in, and windows tells me that the driver has crashed. This has happened 4 or 5 times in the last 10 minutes.

Sounds like your card is faulty. Try it in another PC. Try another card in your PC.

I don't have any spare cards and no one nearby has a PC. I'll try contacting the store I bought the card from tomorrow and find out about warranty. Thanks :)

Use driver sweeper in order to completely uninstall the drivers and re install them. Check that your bios is updated. Try resetting CMOS. Let me know how it goes!

So, I pulled out the graphics card so I could take it in to the store, and there seemed to be small bits of rust on the top, or mould. I'm not sure. But that would probably be why it hasn't been working. Any idea what could cause this?

The case is well under the desk, and on the other side from where I sit, there is no way that bread (or any food or drink) could have gotten in to the case, plus I have a fan dust filter on the top. Oh well, I'll do my best with the warranty, otherwise it's time for a new (and probably cheaper) card
