Hello.

Recently I replaced my old A10-5800K with a A10-6800K. The install went smoothly and everything was grand, but some games are performing worse than before.

Take Battlefield 3 for example, I used to play on medium/high settings at 60-80 FPS but now I struggle to stay at 40 with lower settings.

This is confused me greatly for most games like Dota 2 and Company of Heroes are performing a lot better since the upgrade.

ASUS HD 7850 DDR5 2GB DirectCU II
A10-6800K Quad Core
8GB RAM

I want to know if there is a solution to this problem with the hardware I currently have.

Besides the cpu have you changed anything else eg now not have an overclocked cpu or gpu, changed the power supply, changed the game settings, changed the monitor, changed ram? Any of these could contribute.

The only thing I've changed aside from the CPU is the CPU fan. Its been changed from a standard fan that comes with the CPU to a Freezer A30.

Hey not sure if you solved this, but what are your CPU/ GPU Temps and load looking like during games?

I know what the issue is now. My cpu fan isn't performing as well as I expected it to work. lets my CPU go up to 80 before my computer shuts itself down to save itself. biggest waste of cash I've ever had, stock fans perform better.

Are you sure that is is seated properly? i would be surprised unless it is faulty that it would perform worse than stock... go for a coolermaster if you need a new one :)

Yeah I have a Freezer A30, it fills up half my case and does nothing for it. Shame really.
