HELLO! I want to upgrade my graphic card so i can play games with high setting
i'm considering to purchasing this one gtx 750 ti however i don't know if my system will support it
i have a dell inspiron 580 desktop (not the small one)
Processor: Intel Core i3 540 3.07GHz(4CPUs), 3.1GHz
RAM: 4GB
Motherboard: 0C2KJT A00
PSU: 300W
(i dont know what exactly this is but i think it might be important ) Socket : 1156lga
Graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce 310

height 375.3 mm (14.77 inches)
width 175.9 mm (6.92 inches)
depth 440.4 mm (17.34 inches)

Will this graphic card run on my system or do i have to change something else ?
I already made a research but unfortunately i couldn't find a good answer i dont wanna spend my money on something that will not work
sorry for my bad english im trying to improve anyway i hope my writing makes sense
Thanks in advance

Solution
It will fit just fine, but your PSU is bare minimum for such a card. Especially if it's an older PSU, in which case you might experience power shortages on peak load.

Overclockers.com has a nice comprehensive list of good PSUs that I usually look up either for myself or to give a recommendation: http://www.overclockers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=589708

I'd go for a 500-600 watt PSU from that list so you'll have plenty of headroom. 400 watt might also work. The cheapest one from that list of the top of my head is the Seasonic G Series 550: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817151119
You might find a cheaper one though ;) I would recommend sticking to the list, there are a lot of crappy or even downright dangerous PSUs out there.

Before you thank me, I have to rectify something ;)

Looking at it again 400 watts will definitely be enough for your system + a GTX750Ti and it will probably save you some money. Pick a 400 watt PSU from the list and you'll be golden!

EDIT: If you can't find a 400 watt PSU on the list that's cheaper then feel free to go with a more powerful one, it'll still work just fine and it would give you some more upgrade options down the line. I'm mentioning this because I can't find a cheap good 400 watt PSU and it'd suck if you'd spend way to much on a 400 watt PSU because you thought you absolutely needed a 400 watt PSU instead of a 500-600 watt PSU. You probably know all this already, just thought I'd make sure.
