I am ready for a real gaming desktop, so i was thinking about an EVGA GTX 780 6GB in SLI.
http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E1681...

What could be better for the same price? 1,200?

Do you really need to spend a $1200 for the GPU? 12GB is more than enough for gaming unless you plan to run 3 monitors on 4K.

This is better, but requires at least a 900W PSU. Personally, I would feel better with 1000w.

a tad more expensive, but a 780 Ti is ~20% faster than a 780.

If you want a really good one and just playing on two screens not at 4K. Get a 780 or 780. Don't bother any AMD cards if you want to spend a lot. Anyways if you need the extra graphics in the future then just SLI the 780 or the 780Ti. :D

It is a function of resolution. If one monitor at 1080P then a single normal GTX780Ti is really good.

And gaming on a single 1080p monitor? Mate, there's no point spending past 1k for a single 1080p.

Alright, so learning and gaming. Mine will do it you can learn how to render and do photoshop and many things with an i7 and 16GB of RAM. This will keep you running for the next 5years or so.
